Cwrt Y Vil FC

Total Football in the heart of Llandough

About Us

Cwrt Y Vil FC were formed post war in 1950 by the original pioneer of total football, former Ajax Manager Jack Reynolds.  Reynolds, over here in 1950 on a scouting trip to Cardiff City, stumbled across a Park based Saturday league game in which one of the soon to be founders of the club was playing.  Reynolds liked what he saw, but unfortunately couldnt get work permits to take the desired players back to the Netherlands.  It was then Cwrt Y Vil FC was formed.

In keeping with local traditions and the national language, Reynolds saw fit to name side in Welsh.

Cwrt Y Vil...... which translated in to Dutch means. Total Football

Over the years many players have passed through the ranks, but all have left with that famous flowing football running through their veins and it continues to be the trademark of any Cwrt Y Vil team.

The management team currently charged with instilling these historic values are manager, veteran West Walian Martin Duffy and Director of Football Bob Berry.

Although both are extremely competent and knowledgeable of the history of the club, if needed they can always look to the heart of the current defence, to Shaun Ryan, who was indeed one of the original members of the club, selected personally by Jack Reynolds on that momentous day in 1950.
